How are you doing with your hours? Did you accept the Am Shalom Chai Challenge and spend 18 hours this year loving your neighbor through community service? Send Rabbi Steve an email at stevenlow@amshalom.com and let him know what you did. There are many opportunities right here at Am Shalom.
For additional programs and projects, check out these sites: www.juf.org/tov, www.chicagovolunteer.net, www.chicagocares.org, www.volunteermatch.org. When you complete your 18 hours of community service before Rosh Hashanah next year, drop off a sheet to Am Shalom with your name and where you volunteered. Together we can contribute 54,000 hours to the world!

This mosaic, created by artist Jeanette Kuvin Oren, is the centerpiece of the community court.
It depicts Jacob, as he awakens from his dream in which he saw angels going up and down a ladder to heaven and declares:
"How awesome is this place!
