TWO MINUTES OF TORAH

Here's Rabbi Steve's two minute take on the weekly Torah portion. Read more about Korach.

RESTORE ILLINOIS/PHASE 4

Beginning July 6, in accordance with guidelines from the State of Illinois and the CDC, our office will slowly begin to re-open for our staff. We are looking forward to answering your phone calls and mail! For your convenience, a secure dropbox will be placed outside of the main temple entrance for any correspondence you'd like to drop off.

MEMBERSHIP RENEWAL

Please keep an eye out for your membership renewal packet - they went out by mail last week. You may renew online, or fill out and mail back the printed commitment form. We recognize that the pandemic has impacted our community in every way, and want to reiterate that no one will ever be denied membership because of an inability to meet the standard dues commitment. If your financial situation has changed, or if you would like to confirm a continued dues assistance plan for the coming year, please contact Zoe Sherman at 224.805.9400 or zoes@amshalom.com. Membership commitment forms are due by September 1.

BACKPACK PROJECT

For some parents, the need to purchase new school supplies for their children can pose a huge burden on already-stretched resources. This year, faced with additional economic hardships due to COVID-19, many of The ARK's clients are finding it all the more difficult to prepare for the coming school year.

You can make a difference! The ARK's Backpack Project provides children with backpacks and age-appropriate school supplies. Learn more and make a donation here.

MASK AND FOOD DRIVE

Last weekend, we brought 240 masks, 400 lunches and 1,000 granola bars to our friends at Bethlehem Healing Temple, and we continue to bring non-perishables to Lakeview Pantry. Thank you for continuing to drop off food donations and masks - the need is as great as ever. Donation bins can be found near the main temple entrance.
