Here's Rabbi Steve's two minute take on the weekly Torah portion. Read more about Va-et'chanan.
MAZEL TOV!
Dylan Seiffer, child of Elizabeth and Todd Seiffer, on becoming a Bar Mitzvah on Saturday, August 1.
MASK AND FOOD DRIVE
Thank you for continuing to drop off food donations and masks - the need is as great as ever. Donation bins can be found near the main temple entrance.
BOOK OF LIFE AND MEMORIAL PLAQUES
Last call! If you are interested in purchasing a memorial plaque or including loved ones in the Book of Life, please complete and return the materials by August 3, 2020. You may also submit your information online at amshalom.com/form/bookoflife.html. Please contact Gia with any questions at 847.835.4800 or giam@amshalom.com.
MEMBERSHIP RENEWAL
Membership commitment forms are due by September 1. You may renew online, or fill out and mail back/drop off the printed commitment form. There is a new drop box near the main entrance. We recognize that the pandemic has impacted our community in every way, and want to reiterate that no one will ever be denied membership because of an inability to meet the standard dues commitment. If your financial situation has changed, or if you would like to confirm a continued dues assistance plan for the coming year, please contact Zoe Sherman at 224.805.9400 or zoes@amshalom.com.
A MIDSUMMER MUSIC FEST
What a phenomenal week with A MIDSUMMER MUSIC FEST: Empowering Women's Voices! So grateful to our cantors for helping us to honor and celebrate the centennial of the 19th Amendment, guaranteeing women the right to vote. With less than 100 days to the US election in November, let us make sure that Every VOICE and Every VOTE counts. It is upon us (aleinu) to be the next wave to make a difference in our world. Check out the inspiring video, Another Wave.
