TWO MINUTES OF TORAH

Here's Rabbi Steve's two minute take on the weekly Torah portion. Read more about Eikev.

MASK AND FOOD DRIVE

Thank you for continuing to drop off food donations and masks - the need is as great as ever. Donation bins can be found near the main temple entrance.

CURBSIDE CHALLAH: NEW DATES

Pull into our circle drive this Friday, August 7, 9:30-11:30am for Shabbat greetings, a challah and a copy of the History of Racial Injustice calendar from Equal Justice Initiative. While supplies last. Mask and food donations are welcome at this time - we'll throw you the challah, you toss the canned goods! The next pick-up day will be Friday, August 21.

JVS CAREER & EMPLOYMENT SERVICES

JVS offers career counseling, job skills training, job referrals, financial literacy, small business development and more. Responding to our community, JVS creates new programs to train individuals with disabilities or those who lack the work skills necessary to succeed in today’s difficult job market. When you call JVS, you will connect with a person, not a computerized menu. You will receive personal service to guide you on a path forward toward reaching your employment goals. Learn more at https://www.jcfs.org/jvs.

MEMBERSHIP RENEWAL

Check out Once Upon a Time: The Story of Am Shalom. As we approach the new year 5781, we may still be uncertain about what it will look like, but we know that our connection as a congregation remains strong and vital. Please take a moment to renew your membership; you may renew online, or fill out and mail back/drop off the printed commitment form. We recognize that the pandemic has impacted our community in every way, and want to reiterate that no one will ever be denied membership because of an inability to meet the standard dues commitment. If your financial situation has changed, or if you would like to confirm a continued dues assistance plan for the coming year, please contact Zoe Sherman at 224.805.9400 or zoes@amshalom.com.
