CHECK OUT OUR STORY TIYUL!

Take a stroll through our Story Tiyul (Walk), where you'll find Torah and Sukkot stories at each "stop!" Feel free to spend a few moments in our Sukkah while you're there.

AM SHALOM COOKS!

Rabbi Phyllis has been posing a very important question on Facebook every day since the beginning of the quarantine - WHAT’S FOR DINNER? If you are someone who:

  • Loves to cook
  • Needs to eat
  • Seeks a little mealtime inspiration
  • Likes to ogle pictures of food
  • Enjoys trying new recipes
  • Thinks it’s more fun to cook “together…”

check out our new Facebook Group, Am Shalom Cooks! Each week, Rabbi Phyllis will share a recipe for us to try. We’ll gather in the group to share our results - or, just to dish about food (see what we did there?). Cook when you can, comment when you want - there’s no pressure to participate every week.

Find our group by typing Am Shalom Cooks! into the Facebook search bar. We’re excited to cook together!

SAVE THE DATE - MUSEUM TOURS RETURN!

We're "traveling" to San Francisco's Contemporary Jewish Museum for their exhibition Zohar Studios: The Lost Years! Join a CJM educator to examine the storytelling, narrative, and malleability of photography through an immersive virtual gallery experience. Explore the nineteenth-century United States through the advent of photography, and reflect on how photography influences our understanding of history and reality. Join us on Thursday, October 22 at noon. ZOOM details coming soon.

WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT TORAH?

Simchat Torah celebrates the completion of the annual reading of the Torah, and beginning anew. What do YOU love about Torah? Please take a moment to share on our virtual bulletin board.

BOOK TALKS BEGIN NEXT MONTH

Our monthly book talks begin on Wednesday, November 4, with a lively discussion on The Third Daughter by Talia Carner. Want to get a reminder about upcoming book talks? Email Alyssa to get on the list at alatala@amshalom.com.
