QUIT LOAFING AROUND: CURBSIDE CHALLAH PICK-UP
Swing through the Am Shalom Circle Drive this Friday, August 20, 9:30-10:30am for a free challah (while supplies last) and Shabbat greetings (always available!).
HIGH HOLY DAYS MITZVAH OPPORTUNITIES
1. Volunteers are needed to pack and/or deliver High Holy Days boxes to fellow congregants. These boxes will be integral to helping our congregants create their own sacred spaces wherever/however they choose to worship this High Holy Days season. For a complete list of shifts and to sign up, please click here - and thank you!
2. Maot Chitim assists needy members of the Chicagoland community with Passover, High Holy Days, and other food-related needs so they may observe the holidays and daily life in a traditional and dignified manner. Volunteers are needed to deliver food boxes to Chicago residents on Sunday morning, August 29. The truck will be on site with the packages; volunteers deliver the food directly to the residents' doors. This is a wonderful mitzvah opportunity for all ages. Exact time of arrival will be emailed to volunteers prior to the 29th. Sign up here. Please contact Greg Miller with questions at gmiller@millersquaredinc.com.
3. As we do every year, Am Shalom will collect non-perishable food and hygiene items for The ARK. Donations can be brought to the storage shed in our north parking lot beginning September 7. The shed will be there through the High Holy Days. Please click here for a list of the items most urgently needed. Prefer to make a monetary donation? Click here.
LET'S DISH ABOUT ROSH HASHANAH!
We're getting in the Rosh HaShanah spirit here at the temple, and we want to hear from YOU. Please take less than 60 seconds to answer these fun and family-friendly questions about some of YOUR holiday favorites. Your responses may be used during our Rosh HaShanah services!
