11 Ways to Give Back This Thanksgivukah
Every year, Am Shalom partners with area congregations to provide a warm Thanksgiving meal for people in need - for many, it's the only holiday meal they'll have.
A generous, anonymous donor covers the cost of the meal, which allows us to go the extra mile and provide a goody bag for each attendee.
An $18 donation provides a warm hat, gloves, wool socks, face masks and hand sanitizer.

The Firehouse Community Arts Center plans to feed about 400 families in the North Lawndale Community this Thanksgiving. Each prepared meal will provide dinner for five, at a cost of $15/person. Donations of any amount are appreciated.
The Firehouse Community Arts Center has served as a safe haven for young people in the Chicago area for over a decade. The Center offers year-round, multi-disciplinary cultural arts programming, mentorship, leadership and workforce development centered around the prevention and interruption of violence.
How to Donate:
- Send a check made payable to The Firehouse Catering Company, LLC to The Firehouse Community Arts Center at 2111 S. Hamlin, Chicago, IL 60629
- Zelle to catering@thefcac.org
- Cash App to fcaccatering
We are proud to continue supporting the JCFS Chicago Holiday Gift Drive - also known as Dreidel Tags. The presents go to clients at the Knapp School, JCFS' therapeutic day school, and those who receive counseling, respite and other essential support services.
To ensure the safety of staff, volunteers and clients, JCFS will only be collecting e-gift cards this year.
Please fill out this form to sponsor a child. E-gift cards are due by November 19.
We're excited to once again share our unique menorah, which can be found along our Circle Drive. This special menorah has two functions: to spread light throughout the holiday, and to serve as collection bins for a holiday donation drive. Each bin/candle is tied to an item requested by eight partner organizations.
The menorah will be open for donations beginning on Sunday, November 21. Donations will be accepted through Friday, December 10. Come by any time to drop your donations, or use the links below to ship directly to our charity partners - make sure to select the gift registry address at checkout.
