Host a Bet Mitzvah at Am Shalom

Celebrate and make memories at Am Shalom! Whether you’re looking to host a simple “to-go” table or an evening celebration complete with dinner and dancing, here are some resources and guidelines to support your planning.

Am Shalom provides prayerbooks and kippot for all services. You are welcome to create a personalized siddur (prayerbook) or supplement to distribute. Your material must be pre-approved by the clergy one month in advance of your service.  

 

Our Bet Mitzvah coordinator will be in touch with you at various points throughout the process and will request the following:

 

 

  • Invitation Draft: We kindly request that all families share their invitation draft prior to printing or electronic distribution. Please email your draft to Dana at dponcher@amshalom.com.

 

Bet Mitzvah Day of Service Fees (valid through June 2026)*

 

These include the Day of Service Fund Fee ($300), Service Security Fee ($200) and Chaperone Fee* ($180 for every 20 minors).

 

*Please note we consider all children attending to be minors (not including siblings), regardless of whether their parents have been invited. Chaperone fees are based on a four hour minimum.

  • Congratulatory Table (30 minutes) Includes 1 table, cover, set in Breezeway and cleared by Am Shalom staff.

 

  • Simple Kiddush (up to 90 minutes celebration time, set up one hour prior to service start time) Includes tables and chairs, provided there is inventory available. Strike and clean up must be completed 1 hour after the end of the celebration.

 

  • Extended Kiddush (up to 150 minutes celebration time, set up one hour prior to service start time) Includes tables and chairs, provided there is inventory available. Strike and clean up must be completed 1 hour after the end of the celebration.

 

  • Celebration (up to 270 minutes celebration time, set up one hour prior to service start time) Includes tables and chairs, provided there is inventory available. Strike and clean up must be completed 1 hour after the end of the celebration.
