Am Shalom Makers

The Am Shalom Makers get together every other month to get creative while being in community. No prior artistic experience is needed for any of the pieces. Some favorite past projects include pressed flower art, pop art pet portraits, Passover charcuterie boards, succulent gardens, mosaic mezuzot, and cinnamon babka.

Field Trips

Hop on the Am Shalom bus for a day trip to beloved cultural institutions, hidden gems, and special exhibitions. Field trips include transportation, guided tours, and lunch. Recent favorites include Graceland Cemetery, behind-the-scenes at the Auditorium Theater, a North Lawndale bus tour with Chicago historian Shermann “Dilla” Thomas, a Frank Lloyd Wright studio tour, the American Writers Museum and the Milwaukee Art Museum. The bus typically leaves around 9:30am and returns to Glencoe by 3:30pm.

Softball

Am Shalom is proud to field a softball team each season for the North Suburban Men’s Club Softball League. Games are played on Sunday mornings between April and August in Northbrook.

New players are always welcome – we like a big roster knowing that our players are busy and may not be able to come to every game.
