Am Shalom’s Israel Tzedakah Fund was created in the aftermath of October 7 as a way to provide direct support for Israelis’ immediate needs. Thanks to the overwhelming generosity of our congregation, the fund has provided equipment for IDF soldiers, nourishment for families, a new bicycle for an October 7 survivor. The fund also launched the Am Shalom Impact Scholarship for IDF soldiers who completed their service and hoped to attend college. The scholarship could lighten the burden and motivate students to complete their studies.
Our first Impact Scholarship recipient is Matan Hollander, who is now studying Sports Medicine at Beersheba University and just completed his first Iron Man Triathlon. Matan is incredibly grateful for the support Am Shalom has provided and will continue to provide throughout his two-year program.
