Favorite Am Shalom Tradition

My 3 favorite traditions at Am Shalom are: 6th grade family day – where families share a family heirloom before hearing from the Holocaust Speaker; In Torah Study everyone is given the opportunity to share about any loved one for whom they are saying kaddish; Asking the in-person Hebrew School kids if they want pizza in Hebrew and them responding in Hebrew.

What Brings you Jewish Joy

Hearing how excited our students are to be madrichol!

03

Favorite Jewish Food

How can I choose just one thing?! Latkes, hamentaschen, kugel, matza ball soup, challah… all of the things!!

When did you know that Jewish communal service was the right path for you?

I knew in high school that I wanted to be a Jewish professional but it wasn’t until late college that I realized the rabbinate was my path and even later (a few years into being a rabbi) when I realized that education was my grand passion!
