Zoe Sherman has been responsible for the day-to-day finances of Am Shalom since 2002 and began a management role in 2017. She handles everything from budgeting and financial reporting to keeping a close eye on expenses and long-term planning, working closely with leadership and staff to make sure the numbers are clear, accurate, and useful, and that financial decisions support both current needs and future goals. She sees her role as helping the organization run smoothly behind the scenes so others can focus on their work. Before stepping into this role, Zoe worked as Assistant Controller at Temple Sholom of Chicago, where she gained hands-on experience with nonprofit accounting and financial operations. She graduated from Loyola University in 1996.
