Andrew Nagoda

Andrew Nagoda (he/him) is proud to be Am Shalom’s newest Technical Director, joining the community in November of 2024. As a professional lighting and camera technician in the film, theatre, & live event industries, Andrew is excited to employ all his skills for this congregation. He is an enthusiastic problem solver, always looking for ways to incorporate new technologies to improve systems in any manner; or, as he puts it, “Make molehills out of other people’s mountains.”

Born and raised in Forestburgh, NY, Andrew graduated from SUNY Fredonia with dual Bachelor's degrees in Video Production and Theatre Arts. He has worked with a number of Chicago companies and venues including Chicago Shakespeare Theater, Physical Theatre Festival, Black Oak Technical Productions, and was the Assistant Technical Director of the Athenaeum Center in Lake View. When he’s not delving into projects and improvements around the synagogue, Andrew can often be found similarly experimenting in the kitchen, spending time with his partner, Rebecca, and cheering on the Buffalo Bills!
